What's new
- Group auto-delete timer — owners and admins can set a chat-wide message lifetime in group settings (1 hour up to 90 days, or off). Every member's message follows that timer automatically, so you don't have to ask each person to enable burn-after-send. Personal settings still apply if they're stricter.
- Personal burn modes compose — burn-after-read and burn-after-send can now be active on the same chat at the same time. Each message uses the stricter of the two; a hourglass icon next to the input button shows when burn-after-send is set.
- Burn-after-read previews are masked in the chat list — burn-after-read messages now show as 🔥 in the conversation list instead of revealing the underlying text or filename.
- Polls follow the chat's auto-delete timer — the deadline picker won't let you choose a poll longer than the chat will live, and when a poll message burns, the poll options and vote records clean up with it.
- An hourglass icon appears in the group header when the group has an auto-delete timer set, so it's clear at a glance.
- HEIC photos now send — photos in the HEIC format used to fail with a "format not supported" message. They now go through reliably (encoded to JPEG on send, EXIF stripped for privacy).
- Account migration shows a "Cleaning up local data…" step — when transferring your account to a new device, the final wipe of the old device's data could look frozen on accounts with thousands of media files. There's now a clear progress label so you know to wait.
- Reading group history is no longer interrupted — when you scroll up to read old messages in a group, new activity (members joining, messages arriving) no longer snaps you back to the latest message.
- Group member counts refresh immediately — joins, leaves, and admin approvals reflect in the member count and admin badge right away, instead of waiting for the next refresh.
- "Create chat" page shows the full contacts list — previously the list was capped at half the screen height; now you can scroll through all your contacts.
- Windows:
blindpost://deep links open the app — invite and other deep links into BlindPost now launch the app correctly on Windows.
Stability and privacy improvements throughout, including more reliable account deletion.
